From idea to #155 out of 5,800: my journey building Vegan Check in 6 weeks Over

Vegan Check
What I learned about product building, community, and creating impact through technology.

Over the past six weeks, I had the opportunity to participate in the Lovable Shipped Program, where 5,800 contestants from around the world turned raw ideas into real products.

You may have seen some of my recent posts about an app for vegans, about vibe coding, and a few updates along the way. Here I want to share the broader context behind it.

I am pleased to share that I reached the 155th place among all participants. For a one-person project, I consider this a meaningful result. More importantly, the program itself was an exciting and motivating journey, possible to bring an idea from the drawing board into something that works in the real world.

This experience reinforced the importance of iteration, testing, and simply shipping. It also confirmed that tools and methods today allow individuals to execute projects that once would have required entire teams.

Vegan Check, the project I developed, will continue to evolve. Today, the platform has grown to over 140 users from different locations around the globe. The aim is to continue building a community of people who, just like in popular social media groups such as Vegan Food UK or Accidentally Vegan Products, share and learn from each other by posting products they have discovered in different places.

Vegan Check brings this same concept into a single platform. It is a community-driven space to discover and share plant-based products — supportive for vegans, vegetarians, those with allergies, and anyone passionate about making ethical food choices. Beyond gamification, the most recent addition is an AI-powered capability called Check AI. It instantly analyzes products, identifies vegan-friendly spots, and even helps you rediscover that plant-based brand to cook a spaghetti meal for your friends.

The journey is ongoing, and every step brings new learnings. If you are curious about the background of this project, you can read more here: Vegan App: From UX Portfolio to the App Stores.

You can also follow the progress at www.vegancheck.co. Vegan Check is open for support, collaboration, and investor opportunities.

Alongside this, I run Wrcc Design, a digital agency focused on UX/UI and web design. At the same time, I am currently looking for new opportunities — whether through collaboration on projects or in a full-time role. If this resonates, let’s talk.
